WET N WILD Photo Focus Foundation Dewy Review
This is definitely a fragranced formula, using a floral perfume to it. I really don’t find it evident once on the skin. I truly love this foundation! I find the end is incredibly skin-like in my normal to dry, dehydrated skin. It combines over feel and fine lines beautifully without gathering and settles into a radiant satin finish. Additionally, it wears daily, which is honestly such a struggle for dewy/radiant bases.
I find myself feeling very reminiscent of Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation, not just for the fragrance but the texture and finish. It’s shocking just how similar a $9 bottle of foundation vs a $35 bottle is, in this circumstance.
Now, that’s not to say that this doesn’t have some downsides; I’m not fond of a spatula ever when it comes to foundation. Give me a pump, please! I recognize this is below $10, but when the other pharmacy brands may therefore Wet n Wild. The odour is also probably strong for some, but I really don’t find I smell it once the item is on my skin.
Mixing them provides me with the ideal balance and suits me just fine.
1 beef I have is using the medium buildable to complete’ coverage assert the brand has. I really don’t believe this is buildable past a medium finish. I’ve attempted to build it up to complete and it simply does not. It’s a stunning light coverage that can easily be constructed up to medium; Showing some skin imperfections and texture.
Given my experience with all the original Photofocus Foundation, I’m blown out of the water by the Dewy formula! I’ve applied it with palms, a sponge and multiple brushes along with also my preferred is a domed buffing brush just like my
Overall I’m in love with this foundation, it photographs perfectly, ie. no ghost face like those darn foundations with SPF! Looking at you Estee Lauder Double Wear! The colour I got suits my skin tone perfectly. I’m a shade Light, they do have a reference document you can download but I’d highly recommend getting matched by an MUA. Have to admit since buying it I’ve seen a host of very mixed reviews, I really think it’s one of those you have to try it before you buy it sort of things. It is expensive and I normally refuse to buy a foundation is an MUA won’t give a sample. Especially when you could be spending money on something you won’t like.
Like with all reviews, take it with a pinch of salt, Just because its works for me it doesn’t mean it will for you & give you the same results. Makeup, especially foundation is VERY subjective. Here are some links to various other reviews you may find helpful. Other reviews: here, here, here and here.
(My skin for reference: I have oily/combo skin, relatively good skin in terms of breakouts and spots, slight scarring on my chin. I have very uneven porcelain skin with very pink toned cheeks. I’m a MAC NW15 without a tan and generally wear foundation this colour then bronze up with bronzer if needed!)
